Seaholm Intake Building
Our firm took part in the Seaholm Intake Adaptive Reuse Design Idea Competition by The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department and in collaboration with the Austin Parks Foundation, The Trail Foundation and AIA Austin. Our proposed redevelopment of the Seaholm Intake Facility aimed to be a staple in the lifestyle of downtown Austin residents, a regional destination for citizens in the metropolitan area, and a highlight for travelers visiting our city for the first time.
In short, the proposed redevelopment of the Seaholm Intake Building and Site seeks to extend the urban core across Cesar Chavez, embrace residents and visitors with a new plaza and retail storefront in the shade of the existing live oaks, and engage them with the beauty and active uses along Ladybird Lake with the addition of a boardwalk and lower level uses of the Intake building itself.
