Merriman Pitt/Anderson (MPA) is proud to announce the recent completion of Pecan Gardens in Austin, Texas. With Family Eldercare as the client, this project is a renovation of an existing Candlewood Suites hotel, and it includes 3 floors of supportive housing, including additional features like a social lounge, media lounge, fitness center, community kitchen, computer lab, training room, and break out spaces for small group therapy. Because the inhabitants of this center are over the age of 55, the design took into consideration trauma-informed design, incorporating comfort, community, and choice to create an empowering space for residents, full-time staff, and temporary social workers.
