Black Marlin Bar & Grill
The Black Marlin is a ground-up reconstruction of a restaurant in Port Aransas, Texas. Damaged during the 2017 hurricane season, the new building expands upon its first life as a basic service restaurant in a multi-purpose building. Designed specifically to take advantage of its coastal location and views, the Black Marlin is a three-story, full-service restaurant, bar, and live event venue. In addition to its complex program, all structures within the Palmilla Beach community are subject to a rigorous design code. By using a tower as the primary design gesture, the restaurant continues the tall, narrow proportions of Architecture within the community and allows the dining and service functions to cascade independently around its geometry.
