Palmilla Beach Hotel & Convention Center
This design for a hotel and convention center in Port Aransas, Texas was part of a public-private partnership between the Developer and the City. The hotel was intended to be an extension of a nationally-recognized brand, and both it and the convention center were projected as a regional destination for business and recreation. Located at the front door of Port Aransas, the project site creates the gateway to Texas’ number one tourist destination — Port Aransas, Texas’ Beach Town.
As the centerpiece in a larger development, the vision is a mixed-use, coastal-urban hospitality, retail, and residential village. Vacationers and conference guests would not have only a few reasons to stay, but an entire village of reasons that capture the authenticity of the wild, bohemian, eclectic, and fun spirit of Old Town Port Aransas. The hotel is a ground-up, four-story, primarily wood structure of approximately 177 guest rooms. The convention center is a two-story, steel-framed building with approximately 22,000 SF of meeting space and 18,000 SF of additional amenities.
